You may not always think of Cats and Rabbits when it comes to grooming. However, just like our canines friends, they come in different coat types and have different care requirements! Every pet is unique, and we take the time to get to know your pet's individual needs.
Most Cat breeds shed. Especially when they lose their winter coat! Both long and short hair breeds require routine brushing to prevent matting and to remove any dirt and shedding coat. While bathing is not always necessary, there are times when it is! For example; Hairless Sphinx require regular bathing to protect their sensitive skin.
Nail trims are also necessary to prevent them from growing into the paw pads.
Soft and plush, your little pet needs a brush! Small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs can shed a lot! It can be detrimental for their health to accidentally ingest or inhale large amounts of dead fur. Their nails also grow quickly and have the potential of impeding their ability to walk (or hop) properly.
Small Animals tend to have sensitive skin, dense coats, and delicate temperaments. In most cases, bathing a small animal will be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Smells, sounds & sights... OH MY!
Whether your pet is an old timer, or the new fur babe on the block, there is a lot of reasons why your pet might be nervous about being groomed. Our pets communicate with their body, and don't speak English! As professionals, and pet owners it's important for us to respect and listen to our pet's body language, and approach each situation with care. Knowing when to give breaks, when to reward, and when to stop, are all important factors of grooming.
Environment & Patience is key!
At Pitter Patter Pet Spa, we provide a 1-on-1 experience, to limit stimulus such as barking and the presence of other animals while grooming services are performed. This helps to keep your pet calm and focused, while strengthening the relationship between pet and groomer.

At Pitter Patter Pet Spa, we are passionate about what we do and take pride in providing personalized grooming services tailored to your pet's specific needs.
We also understand that sometimes your pet just needs a break. Maybe a full grooming session all at once is just too much.
Maybe nails is really just not your pet's favorite thing.
Let's talk about your Pet. We want to help!
-All dogs must remain on a leash in & around the premises, or be brought in an appropriately sized crate upon arrival. Cats and small animals must be brought in a secure, appropriately sized crate or carrier. For the comfort of your pet, it is also the understanding that Pets have had proper time to relieve themselves before bringing them into the salon; failing to do so may add extra time to the service and may be subject to fees.
- Although not required, it is highly recommended that your pet is up to date on their vaccinations and preventatives to protect them against the risk of ailments such as Parvo virus, Rabies and Bordetella, and any parasites.
-Any Pet proven to have a parasite infestation (ex; fleas, ticks, worms) during their stay, the service may be suspended and Pet Parent required to retrieve their pet. Pitter Patter Pet Spa will not be held accountable for potential illness or transmission of parasites
-Price and Time spent on your pet may vary due to size, behavior and condition. Additional fees may apply. Conditions including but not limited to aggression, age, medical restrictions, Physical limitations, matting, excessive shedding coat, Pelted fur, skin conditions & lumps, and Parasites.
- Excessive matting, pelting/compaction can be uncomfortable and painful to brush out, and at times may need to be shaved out. Irritation, small knicks and redness may occur due to poor coat/ skin conditions
While our main goal is to provide quality, positive experiences For your pet, animals can sometimes be hard to predict! Stress and other factors may impede your pet's willingness to participate.
Pitter Patter Pet Spa reserves the right to refuse to perform a service on your pet, and reprice accordingly.
We love caring for pets! Schedule right here on our site for a meet and greet, or to make any pet service appointment. If you have a special request or any questions, send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
